Tessa Dare is a magazine writer who dreams of becoming the most famous food critic in Seattle, regularly reviewing restaurants and recipes for her readers. When the next big restaurant opens in Seattle, she is ready with her pen and paper. 

While the food is delicious, her review turns scathing when the head chef causes a disturbing scene, leading to the owner of the restaurant reaching out to her.

Tessa gets this all the time, but when the owner turns out to be her big brother Ben's best friend, Shane, things get interesting. 

She refuses to take down her review until the chef apologizes, which isn't going to happen anytime soon, leading to problems between Ben, Shane, and Tessa.
